if you can’t say something nice…

…then it’s time for a g-list!

everything i’m grateful for today:

  • that ed finally comes home tonight after six long, long days away (but gee, i was becoming such an efficient, orderly person…the symmetrical dishwasher loading—ah perfection!)
  • my wonder boys
  • barefoot, open-window, short-sleeve weather (heaven!)
  • roses, all of mine, blooming—even the black magics
  • arnold palmers daily
  • mango banana smoothies
  • the full minute me and leo spent kissing each other back and forth on the lips in the backyard today, complete with “mmmmm” between each one
  • the 18-month clinginess (my baby!)
  • the coming together of a summer writing group
  • last thursday’s “mom & clyde day” of birdwatching (oh, how the hawks soared on the wind and how they screamed!) and lunch and how after lunch i got a certain “dessert lusty” look in my eye and he said, “ohhh, i’m thinking what you’re thinking…” (so funny!)
  • grandma and grandpa’s overnighter with both boys last saturday night *thank you*
  • how clyde so sweetly explained to leo about farms and gardens and how some people {whispers} “don’t have anywhere to live” when leo threw a strawberry on the ground
  • the idea of this blouse looking lovely on me (see, if i don’t buy it, i can always just imagine how great i look in it)
  • upcoming art show, breast cancer walk and after-party, girls night, second saturday art walk, and mama’s day fun (an action-packed weekend for sure)
  • birds, this one, in particular and all the hummingbirds and thank heavens my mockingbird is back with more songs than ever; perhaps he was away at song-making school?
  • photos like this, this, this, and this
  • all of you (and several mamas offline) and your helpfulness (lovingness) during our current dental crisis *thank you*

So many blessings. My son and I used to do that kissing thing too. It is so sweet. He would be horrified to even consider he had done it now as he will be 12 next month. I have never seen a mockingbird. How lovely.

Oh I lOVE Arnold Palmers! I just discoved them a few months back, but I am totally hooked. I see them being a serious summer time addiction!
